Meet Shelly

Shelly is Nanita’s granddaughter, Lena’s daughter and Vivienne’s niece. She’s also the “Bad Santa” of high school guidance counseling. She doesn’t pull any punches and she can smell bullshit a mile away. She’s a warden, zoo keeper and a cat herder, which helps immensely when Nanita, Lena and Vivienne get out of hand.

Despite her unorthodox methods, the students love her and tell her things that they wouldn’t tell their parents. She has a non-traditional way of looking at things: “You’ve got a 1.3 GPA, but you’re worried about being asked to the prom? Tell you what; I’ve got a couple of friends that work at a hotel. Let’s get you on the housekeeping track there first and then see what we can do about getting you a prom date.” For Shelly, there is no right or wrong way to do anything. If it works, it’s good. If not, she’ll try something else. She will do whatever it takes.
